So I have to ask...

 What are your thoughts on the "celebration" of Columbus day?

I think there are two issues:

1. He didn't even land in North America, he landed in the Caribbean.

2. You can't discover land that is already inhabited.

 So what exactly are we celebrating, that fact that he was able to navigate his way to the Bahamas when he was trying to make it to the Far East? Maybe we are celebrating the fact that he called the native people Indians because he thought he landed in India. I am still not sure what the celebration is, I am wondering if people are just excited to have a day off and they don't really care why. What do you think?
